The Crypt Child is a small humanoid demon found in the early dungeons of Act One.

These demons were first seen in a screenshot from the beta build, released in July 2011. These monsters are found in the early levels of Act One, and seem to fill much the same role that the Flayer Rat Men did in Diablo II; fast moving, small, creepy little ankle-biting demonic humanoids.

They attack in packs, and can be dangerous in large groups, but aren't too tough for most heroes to dispatch, especially when singled out.
Little is yet known of Crypt Children. They appear to be small, fast-moving swarmers, but they have only been seen in the beta demo build. In those early game levels they are purely melee attackers.
There may well be higher level types of this monster, with shamans and other advanced units.
Diablo II Monster
There are no Crypt Children in the previous games in the series, but they appear to be quite similar in appearance and function to the Rat Men, who were a subtype of the Flayer Flayer monsters, which were found all through the jungles of Act Three. Rat Men were weaker versions of Flayers, given a brownish color to make them harder to see in the dark levels of the Catacombs, which they infested in the later levels of Act One.

Like the Rat Men, Crypt Children are small unarmored humanoids that move quickly and attack in packs. Unlike Rat Men and other types of Flayers, the Crypt Children are not armed with massive butcher knives.

Skill Design
This notorious Combat skill makes a return in Diablo 3, having the same basic functions as it did in . However, this new version is not identical, hitting for 200% weapon damage at rank 1, making the skill a powerful single-target ability that will presumably scale well at higher levels.

Even though Bash scales with weapon damage, the Barbarian chooses a more simple weapon when executing the skill... his bare fist. The Barbarian rears back, winding up for the punch, and delivers a devastating blow to the target. Spamming bash has become difficult, due to the Fury cost and the relatively long "cast time" (~1s).

Since spamming Bash has become hindersome, it can be safely assumed that this skill will no longer cause "Bash-locks", where a player repeatedly spams Bash, causing the enemy to be unable to retaliate. However, the knockback effect of this skill might help you in other ways, for example, to stop the Cultist from becoming a big-ass demon, forcing him to restart the ritual/incantation (assumed).
While Bash was first seen in Diablo 3 at WWI 2008, the skill has a big heritage from Diablo II's . The skill used to be used to "bash-lock" enemies in PvP, and has changed since then.

The first versions, at WWI 2008 and 2008 didn't use knockback at all, it only made the barbarian dash forward, and hit with full weapon damage. The knockback was added for 2009.
This notorious Combat skill makes a return in Diablo 3, having the same basic functions as it did in . However, basic functions doesn't mean identical, since this weapon does 200% weapon damage at rank 1, making at least one point into this skill worth it. It seems to retain its usefulness into the late game, since 200% weapon damage at a 400 damage weapon will end up doing 800 damage (assumed).

Bash is a wonderful skill all in all, having it early on will help the player lots, and having it during the later stages will also help. Spamming bash has become difficult, due to the Fury cost.

Development
While Bash was first seen in Diablo 3 at WWI 2008, the skill has a big heritage from Diablo II's . The skill used to be used to "bash-lock" enemies in PvP, and has changed since then.

The first versions, at WWI 2008 and 2008 didn't use knockback at all, it only made the barbarian dash forward, and hit with full weapon damage. The knockback was added for 2009.
Skill Design
This notorious Combat skill makes a return in Diablo 3, having the same basic functions as it did in .

Spamming bash has become difficult, due to the Fury cost and cooldown (if there is one).
