A '''fan monster''' is a Diablo-inspired monster created in the minds of one or more fans of the franchise. These are '''not''' official [[monster]]s, or even official joke monsters from [[Blizzard Entertainment|Blizzard]].

The fan monsters are made to help give Blizzard ideas about their game development, for theorycrafting of what Blizzard ''might'' create next, or just right out unrealistic and funny. It can also be part of [http://www.diii.net/blog/comments/contest-create-a-d3-skill-tree/ a contest] or other event.

==Background==
The idea to make a section for fan-created monsters in Diablo Wiki came from the [[fan class]] initiative back in early June 2009. When [[User:Veskin7 Bukito|Veskin7 Bukito]] created his [[Fan class:Dragon Warrior|Dragon Warrior]] fan class, he also had a lot of ideas for monsters, so [[Leord]] adapted the regular [[Boilerplate:Monster|monster boilerplate]] to help Veskin7 Bukito and other active community figures to create new and exciting creations that are made to inspire Blizzard, or just fellow fans.
