The Diablo 3 beta is due to begin before the end of September 2011. It will be a closed beta and is mainly aimed at testing the battle.net server infrastructure, their launcher and patcher software. The beta will contain a very small part of the game, not even the first act in full, however it will contain all five classes. There will be no open beta (anyone and everyone can test) but to be in the running to be selected for the closed beta you must have a battle.net account and have completed a beta profile.
