BlizzCon is an annual convention hosted by Blizzard and held in the Anaheim convention center. The first BlizzCon was held in 2005. Others followed in 2007, 2008, and 2009. The convention has grown larger and more popular each year.
- More than 12,000 tickets sold out in less than an hour when the 2008 convention sales page went live.
- 2009 greatly improved upon this with over 25,000 tickets selling out in just minutes, even when offered in two blocks, weeks apart.
See the BlizzCon 2008 page for more details about the 2008 installment, which introduced the Wizard and first showed off a playable version of Diablo III.
See the BlizzCon 2009 page for more details about the 2009 show, which introduced the Monk and allowed players to explore portions of the desert-setting of Act 2.
BlizzCon 2010 remains hypothetical, but is widely-expected to occur in late summer of this year.
