Experience Bonuses are bonuses to Experience that the player receives when doing specific tasks, Much like achievements. However, it is not known if they act like Achievements and/or Statistics (See Below). They were first seen in the GamesCom 2009 demo.
Additional Information
Experience Bonuses give the player experience for accomplishing certain tasks, such as the "Massacre" Exp. Bonus, which awards the player Exp. based on the number of monsters he killed in a row. The Gamescom 2009 demo videos, showed the player receiving 75 xp for killing 20 monsters in a row, while another showed the player receiving 24 xp for killing 11 monsters in a row, on top of the xp earned for killing the monsters independently.
It is logical, that killing monsters as fast as possible is more beneficial to the player.
It can also be assumed that there are many types of Exp. Bonuses, other than "Massacre". For Example, the 1Up Diablo 3 Preview article states the following:
"In-game bonuses can also be had -- for instance, survive a battle that's taken you down to your last bit of health, and you receive an experience bonus for the enemies you just killed."
It means, that if u survive a battle, with low hp, you shall gain an xp bonus.
It is Unknown if they act like achievements and/or Statistics, in the sense that "Are they repeatable?" and "Do they act like records?". If they act like achievements, then obtaining "Massacre" will give you xp and will never happen again until you start another character. If they act like Records, it means that they are repeatable, and can be used to brag or to show how good a player is. One player might brag that he killed 50 monsters, and have solid proof, while another player might have killed 25 monsters in a row, then beat his record by killing 30 monsters in a row. All that is known, is that NOTHING is final, Speculate at your own risk.
Types of Exp. Bonuses
- Massacre: Have a kill streak of X amount of kills. Kills determine amount of XP gained.
- Unknown Bonus: Defeat a group of enemies and survive the battle with low hp. Unknown XP factor.
