Freespecs is a portmanteau combining "free" and "respecs." The term was created and popularized by Flux, in various news posts on Diablo.IncGamers.com shortly after the July 2011 Blizzard media event, at which Blizzard revealed the new Diablo III skill system with no skill points and instant, unlimited, anytime respecs.
