Rathma, or Linarian, is one of the few surviving Nephalem in Sanctuary and is a master over death and spirits. He created the Priests of Rathma, who are also known as Necromancers. Rathma is the son of Lilith and Inarius. He was born with the name Linarian but was given the name Rathma by Trag'Oul.
Background
Rathma is at odd ends with his mother because she destroyed the rebel angels and demons to use the Nephalem's power for herself, and feels the angels are no better than the demons.
He became the disciple of Trag'Oul (mystical entity depicted as a dragon made of stars living in a void dimension) and their goal is to keep a balance between the Burning Hells and the High Heavens.
Mendeln was guided by Rathma in his initiation. Mendeln, along with his brother Uldyssian, eventually met Rathma and Trang'Oul. Uldyssian and Rathma went to the Worldstone to change its essence in order to free the Nephalem's powers. It's the same plan Lilith originally had, but failed. Uldyssian completed the task and changed the way the Worldstone worked.
