Softshack first entered the Diablo fan art scene in late August 2008 when he entered and won the fan art contest on Diii.net[http://www.diii.net/blog/comments/contest-winners-fan-art-and-11-word-story/] with his female [[Barbarian]] namedpainting. He had previously created the "[[:Image:Shack_barb.jpg|Barbarian Girl]]" on a Nintendo DS as a part of the DS Colors [http://www.collectingsmiles.com/colors/] community.
The next major contribution was after the [[Unburied]] was announced [http://www.diii.net/blog/comments/bestiary-update-unburied/] in February 2009. Softshack worked on and released a fan art sketch painting of it that which also was included in the [[Diii.net:Fan Art Watch|Diii.net Fan Art Watch]] no 3[http://www.diii.net/blog/comments/fan-art-watch-3/].
On 24 February, 2010 Softshack's Unburied was added to blizzard's fan art gallery [http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/community/fanart/#921 ]. After he waited for a year and almost gave up hope. He was also recognized on 04 March, 2010 in the 30th [[Diii.net:Fan Art Watch|Fan Art Watch]] [http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/fan-art-watch-30/ ].
