Threatening Shout is a Tier III skill from the Barbarian's Berserker Skill Tree, which debuffs enemies around the Barbarian, making them deal less damage for a period of time.

The powerful Barbarian lets out a shout that makes even the most sturdy of souls or demons tremble, making it easier to hit them where it counts.

Skill Design

This Skill is a warcry, and a good one at that. If the Barbarian runs into enemies with really high damage, this skill is a life saver, making the fight that much easier. It is unknown if this warcry will affect bosses (we highly doubt it since bosses always have more WAAAAGH than you).

Development

Threatening Shout was first seen at the Diablo II announcement at WWI 2008 and is the only Warcry in the Berserker skill tree so far. It has changed multiple times since it's unveiling in WWI.

This skill is designed very much like the Battle Cry in Diablo 2, except this skill only gives a reduction to damage while Battle Cry gave a reduction to Defense as well. Warcries in Diablo 3 are very similar to the warcries in Diablo 2, except having smaller statistical bonuses and requiring Fury to use (assumption).

Threatening Shout was originally called "Terrifying Shout" and gave a damage bonus to the Barbarian's party. Later, this skill became Threatening Shout with the effects seen above, but higher stats at Rank 1.
