The Monk creates a state of mind where he automatically manages to counter any hit on himself with at least a weak hit back to his opponent where the enemy opened his defences in order to hit the Monk.

Skill Design[edit | edit source]

Not much to say about this one, since it had a point in it and I never added any more to see if I could discern the improvement. The Monk hits so fast and was overpowered for the BlizzCon 2009 build that needing to dodge or getting your hits interrupted wasn't a real major problem.

Skill Rank Table[edit | edit source]

  • Rank 1: Counteract 10% of normal weapon damage.
  • Rank 2: Counteract 20% of normal weapon damage.
  • Rank 3: Counteract 30% of normal weapon damage.
  • Rank 4: Counteract 40% of normal weapon damage.
  • Rank 5: Counteract 50% of normal weapon damage. (presumed)

Synergies[edit | edit source]

Development[edit | edit source]

This skill was first shown at BlizzCon 2009 as one of the originals when the Monk was unveiled.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

This spell is pretty similar to the Diablo II Paladin "Thorns" Aura in gameplay, even if it only activates when dodged.
