Cain's Lost Satchel can appear in random locations in Act II (as listed below) and can contain any number of lore related documents or journals.

- The Crumbling Vault in the Stinging Winds
- The Ruins in the Stinging Winds
- West entrance to the Khasim Outpost
- Entrance to Alcarnus
- Flooded Causeway in Caldeum Bazaar
- Ruined Cistern
- Dahlgur Oasis
Collecting journals and diaries can earn Achievements and the following journals found in Cain's Lost Satchel form part of the following achievement.
