Death Watch Mantle is a legendary shoulders that can be found in Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls. This item can be found and equipped by any class, though the special bonus is most useful to melee combatants, who will be hit often and have lots of enemies in close proximity when they are hit.
The Smart Drop system ensures that these shoulders will usually roll with the mainstat appropriate to the class that finds it.
Death Watch Mantle properties[edit | edit source]
This item's legendary affix grants a "fan of knives" 25-35% of the time the character wearing the shoulders is hit. Fan of Knives is a Demon Hunter skill which sends out a nova-like blast of knives that hit all nearby enemies. This item is not actually casting the Demon Hunter skill, only an effect that looks just like the base version (not a rune effect version) of the skill, so it can be used by any class. Also, as it is not the skill itself but merely an effect that looks like it, gear that boosts the damage of Fan of Knives, or the elemental damage type, do not boost the damage of this item's legendary property.
