Vile Ward.

Vile Ward is a legendary shoulders that can be found in Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls. This item can be found and equipped by any class.

The Smart Drop system ensures that this belt will usually roll with the mainstat appropriate to the class that finds it.

Vile Ward properties

This item does not have a legendary affix. It has zero flexibility in the primary stats either, with 4 inherent primary affixes. This shows a clear difference in items in Loot 2.0, where 4 primary affixes is the maximum, and this limits bonuses. For instance, Vile Wards can never roll with Vitality anymore. (Though it could be enchanted in the slot of any of the 4 affixes.)

  • All stats listed below are for level 60. Stats scale up to the level of this item when dropped.
  • See the sample screenshots below to see how this belt will roll at level 70.

One of the biggest and most obvious item graphics in the game, these shoulders were often hit with Invisible Dye in D3v as they were by far the most powerful shoulders, and yet had such a large graphic that many fans found it displeasing.
