Shatter Shot is a rune effect in Hungering Arrow, a Hatred-generating Demon Hunter skill.
This rune effect causes the arrow to split if it pierces the first target (35% chance). The arrow splits into three new arrows, each of which hits for full damage, though they can not' pierce or split again.
This is the weakest damage rune effect in this skill against a single target, since the split arrows will never double back to hit the initial target again. On the other hand, this is potentially the most damaging effect against large groups of enemies since each arrow can deal up to quadruple damage, splitting into three new arrows if it pierces against a monster on the outer edge.
