Pyrogeist
Pyrogeist is a rune effect in Firebomb, is a Physical Realm Witch Doctor skill.
This rune effect changes the firebomb to a column of flame that spews fire at the closest enemy for 140% weapon damage over 3 seconds. Only one Pyrogeist may be active at one time.
The range of the Pyrogeist flames is medium to far.
Note the terms; that's 140% over 3 seconds = 47% per second. Compare to Fire Pit, which retains the base skill (85% damage) + 8% per second for 3 seconds (24%). So each Fire Pit can deal 109% in 3 seconds, to all enemies in the area, while Pyrogeist is 124% to a single target.
Pyrogeist maintains a single advantage over Fire Pit in that it has a more reliable chance to hit an enemy, due to it's ability to track movement. This skill seems to be geared towards hard-to-hit targets such as Burrowing Leapers, Desert Hornets, and at some point, other players during PvP matches.
